Welcome to Charlesworth and Chisworth Pre-School, which provides places for children aged from 2 years up to 5.

We provide a happy, friendly and stimulating environment for your child, where they will feel valued, enjoy a wide range of activities and enjoy learning.

Our pre-school began in 1980 and occupied various locations before moving here 10 years ago. Three of our staff, past and present, have had their own children attend the pre-school, which we think speaks for itself!

We feel that our real strength is that we are a small, friendly organisation. We get to know our children and their families very well, and everyone shares in the successes that your child will enjoy during their time with us.

In addition to this strong sense of community, we take particular pride in the effort which our teachers put in to help the children’s creative talents.  Parents are regularly invited to “extravaganzas”, we have masses of varied outings, visitors to talk to the children, and we address the Early Years Foundation Stage learning goalsin an imaginative way for each half-term topic.

We have strong links with Charlesworth Primary School and the reception teacher and headteacher visit us each half term. In return, we arrange trips to the school. As part of the broader village community, we enter a float into the carnival annually, hold a fun day, distribute harvest festival boxes and arrange many other events. The children also arrange a day themselves where they raise money to help buy classroom resources for those in developing countries through Oxfam. We also take part in Operation Christmas Child - where children fill shoe boxes to send overseas.

We believe that the secret to our success is the high level of involvement which parents have with the teachers and the pre-school.
